Our Job Seekers
We work with all residents in Yarrabah that would like or are required to obtain employment. As a community-based organisation, Wugu Nyambil understands the needs, goals and barriers of local residents. We will provide job seekers with the necessary tools and resources to assist them to participate in the Employment program. With direct linkages to local and external employers, community service organisations, local council, schools and training providers, Wugu Nyambil is able to source the most appropriate assistance and jobs that are available.
Wugu Nyambil is working with local Yarrabah and external employers to source a range of employment and work experience opportunities for Yarrabah residents. A commitment has been developed in conjunction with the local businesses and enterprises to hire from within Yarrabah to support our local jobs economy. With job roles suited to the needs of individuals such as health services, administration, labouring, maintenance, retail, hospitality, tourism, agriculture, asset maintenance, mining and transport there are positions available to suit a range of individuals. Wugu Nyambil will also provide support to employers via the provision of wage subsidies, mentoring services, training and other intervention services to ensure that job seekers are fully prepared for employment.
Wugu Nyambil is a new employment service that commenced services in July 2018. Since commencement, we have engaged with over 700 Yarrabah residents that are eligible for employment services in Yarrabah. We are currently building capability and support services to assist all clients within the community. Wugu Nyambil provides an exciting opportunity to assist clients to further develop their capacity and to gain ongoing employment both locally and externally. Wugu Nyambil will provide facilities and services to both clients and employers to develop a job-ready workforce.
Wugu Nyambil ‘Holding onto Work’ provides employment services to the community of Yarrabah. Our service specialises in servicing residents of Yarrabah who may be experiencing a range of issues from sourcing health services, social services, employment programs, training development, work experience programs, mentoring or cultural supports. Our dedicated and local staff will provide the necessary supports and interventions to assist clients to actively participate in the program and to secure ongoing employment.
